About Me

I have worked in food for more than 15 years as, among other things, a private chef, caterer, recipe developer, test cook, writer, and editor.

Prior to joining the Kitchn team, I was an associate editor at America's Test Kitchen, where I contributed recipes to many well-researched, engaging cookbooks for children and families, as well as to ATK's digital platform. I also was a contributing writer and performer on Mystery Recipe, an ingredient-themed podcast for families uncovering the fascinating world of food, and I've worked on content for Serious Eats and for cookbooks from Ten Speed Press, Rebel Girls, and Clarkson Potter.

I’m passionate about helping the home cook be successful in the kitchen, whether through well-written recipes, thoughtful explainers, or useful guides. (I'm also passionate about clogs and burritos, but that's neither here nor there.)

Cacio e pepe is one of my favorite simple pastas — just spaghetti, Pecorino Romano, and freshly cracked black pepper come together in a creamy (without a drop of cream!), cheesy sauce.
